Jules Verne’s classic books are treasured for their imaginative stories, but his books are also examples of great book cover design. The original covers designed by Pierre-Jules Hetzel in the 1800's are beautiful works filled with intricate detail, patterns and images. Since then, many different versions have been officially published and many more have been made by designers as an exercise in creativity and imagination. Of course, the extraordinary topics of Verne’s books are the perfect subjects to inspire the wonderful covers that have emerged.—Charis Poon
